10 Simple Steps to Produce Winning Advertising Flyers
Advertising flyers can be an effective marketing tool to drive traffic and sales to small and medium enterprises. Unfortunately, it can be a gamble.
Some firms net big sales brochures. Some fall flat, with few sales, at best. Others pay for their investment and nothing else. There are many variables that go into producing high response advertising flyers.
In my 15 years of experience in the production of leaflets in the retail business (especially in new car dealerships), I have come to identify 10 key elements that go to successful advertising flyers.
Companies that follow these 10 steps will increase your chances of getting a good return.
1. We have always convincing. Average offer is almost always spells a poor response;
2. Graphics are good fantasy, but a good dose of imagination trumps graphics every time;
3. Include a PDF version of the primary web page business flyer, before and during the sale;
4. E-mail a PDF of the advertising flyers to your contacts database (with their permission, of course);
5. Make sure all employees are informed of the sale in time for them to spread the word to your friends, family and neighbors;
6. Copies of the hand wheel have consumed the shop for sale;
7. Proof-read the entire advertising flyers. Proof-read it again! Copy errors are embarrassing and reflect poorly the company's image;
8. If the budget allows, encourage sales elsewhere (i.e., newspaper ads, radio spots, without signaling);
9. Ensure timely delivery. Ideally, the leaflets distributed to households within 2 to 5 days of the sale itself;
10. Make sure you have enough products in stock for all customers who want to buy what you sell.
